([13] p. with interleaved and mounted ill. ; 20 x 30 cm.) with full text of the poem and images, and an unbound flip book (24 [i.e. 48], [2] p. on accordion-folded strip formed from 24 joined sheets ; 9 x 30 cm.) with text fragments and images, fitted together into a clamshell box. Accompanied by folded sheet ([4] p. ; 14 cm.) with caption title "How to read The writer" and by loose digital pigment print (17 x 15 cm.).
• "The full text has been printed letterpress by Charles Hobson on a Vandercook S-20 (with the kind assistance of Les Ferriss) using polymer plates set in 14-point Courier on BFK Rives. These pages have been interleaved with vellum sheets printed with digital pigment prints and hand cut with the shapes of a starling in flight based on drawings by Charles Hobson. The accompanying flip book, or 'flutter book,' containing a selection of certain words from the poem, has been bound as an accordion and scored so as to permit viewing in an extended manner ... [Both] are contained in a fabric covered clamshell box which holds at its back a digital pigment print hand colored with pastel by the artist"--Colophon.
