- Summary
- Projection designer Wendall K. Harrington discusses her career with drama critic Michael Sommers. She begins by describing her early work in filmmaking and industrial shows. Starting in the 1970s, the slides and video projections that were common in industrial shows were increasingly used in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, thus resulting in a new design position. Harrington speaks of several memorable shows in her career, including The Heidi chronicles, My one and only, The Who's Tommy, Ragtime, The capeman, and Grey gardens. She also discusses her experiences with the Drama Dept., a theater group she co-founded, and her impressions of a number of colleagues from various projects over the years, including Wendy Wasserstein, Tommy Tune, and James Lapine.
