- Summary
- Les Davis interviews American lyricist and songwriter Sammy Cahn (CD 1, tracks 1-8). Cahn discusses his career as a lyricist, and the craft of lyric writing; his popularity in the USA and England; and partnerships with colleagues. He also talks about the songs that he wrote for various famous singers such as Frank Sinatra. During the interview he sings excerpts from his songs.
- Les Davis interviews American lyricist and songwriter Sammy Cahn (CD 1, tracks 9-11). Cahn talks about the life and career of American lyricist, widely considered one of the greatest songwriters in history, Irving Berlin, and sings excerpts from Berlin's songs as a tribute to his 100th birthday. Cahn also respondes to telephone questions from the radio audience.
