  • Material related to the illustrated book published as: The picture of Dorian Gray : a working script for the stage from the novel by Oscar Wilde / with original images and notes on the text by Jim Dine. London : Petersburg Press, c1968. Dine collaborated on the script adapted from Wilde's novel by Robert Kidd; cf. Carpenter, E. Jim Dine prints, 1985-2000, p. 232.
  • Drawings with artist's ms. annotations; signed or initialed and dated 1968 (one is dated 1967-8). Includes unsigned and undated preparatory drawing for the title lithograph or title on covers with the spelling "Dorian Gran."
  • Artist's illustrated typescript (49 sheets) contains his holograph emendations and annotations and original ink drawings.
  • Box contains unbound copy of the book, with text reproduced from the illustrated typescript; some pages with additional collage elements such as imitation precious stones, fabric swatches, braided hair, fake pearls, fake alligator skin, ribbons, embroidery threads, feathers, and one photograph. Also included are the 12 lithographs printed in colors bound into editions A, B and C of the book and the 4 etchings that accompany editions B and C, printed in variant colors. Colophon leaf signed in green by Dine; etchings signed in pencil.
