Summary
Molly Smith, artistic director of the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., examines the organization's history, the current renovation of its space, and future plans. She discusses the company's founder Zelda Fichandler, and her own collaborators such as the Arena's managing director Edgar Dobie, playwright Paula Vogel, and others. She identifies major productions in the company's history, and also examines the current production, Lydia Diamond's drama Stick fly. The interview takes place on the set of this play.
