  • Bound in illustrated paper wrappers, front wrapper with illustration of nude woman partially wrapped in bed sheet, crouching on bed as bearded man watches.
  • This novel was published in 2008 by Hard Crime Case under Block's name and the title "A Diet of Treacle," which was Block's preferred title, rejected by his original publisher. The later title is taken from "Alice in Wonderland," and the 2008 edition has a foreword containing an excerpt from "Alice" about people who live on "treacle" (i.e., drugs) and become ill.
