- Summary
- Gordon Edelstein, artistic director of the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut, discusses his career. He recounts his earliest theatre studies in Poland in the '70s with renowned director and author Jerzy Grotowski, his early jobs backstage in New York and elsewhere after he returned from Europe, and his work at the Long Wharf. In addition to describing his job duties, Edelstein speaks of his experiences directing various shows, specifically his working relationship with South African playwright Athol Fugard on two recent projects, Coming home and Have you seen us?
