Summary
  • Television adaptation of Frank McCourt's musical revue, which originally played at the Irish Repertory Theatre in 1997. Consists of songs and spoken passages concerning the people of Ireland from the early 19th century onward, with emphasis on the famine of the 1840s and '50s, the subsequent migration of many Irish to America, and the Irish American experience in the 20th century.
  • Show ends at 90:00, and is followed by approximately twenty minutes of rehearsal footage, out-takes, and additional musical numbers. Also included is a sequence in which author Frank McCourt addresses the audience, following an introduction by director Charlotte Moore.
