Note
  • The sound quality overall is good in that for the most part the featured speakers' voices can usually be clearly heard. The questions from the audience are for the most part inaudible but are repeated by one of the speakers. The recording is marred at times by extraneous noises arising from distortion in the tape. In addition there are sections consisting primarily of silence, music, and percussive noise as movements are performed.
  • Lecture-demonstrations and a question and answer session with the audience and the choreographers Ann Vachon, Margot Colbert, Dana Wolfe, and Elina Mooney following the performance of their respective works on Oct. 12, 1971 at The New School for Social Research in New York City (side A, from the beginning to ca. 41 min. into the recording); and lecture-demonstrations and a question and answer session with the audience and the choreographers Ethel Winter, Cliff Keuter, Janet Soares, and Joan Miller following the performance of their respective works, on Oct. 19, 1971 at the New School for Social Research in New York City (side A, from ca. 42:30 min. to ca. 47 min., and side B). In the lecture-demonstration portion of the program, Chuck Davis substitutes for Miller who does not give a lecture-demonstration, and also participates in the question and answer session. These lecture-demonstrations are the third and fourth, respectively, of a group of four held on Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26, 1971 as part of the New School ChoreoConcerts and critiques series sponsored by the Choreographers Theatre.
