- "Collages facts and fictions surrounding the demise (or near demise) of ships frequenting the waters of Northern Califoria. The facts have been gleaned from Shipwrecks at the Golden Gate, by James Delgado & Stephen Haller, and Peril at sea, by Jim Gibbs ... [and other sources]. The images and fictions are by Charles Hobson, who designed the edition. The plates for the photogravures were created by Kay Bradner and printed by Kay Bradner & Charles Hobson on BFK Rives at Katherine Lincoln Press. The silhouette outlines of shipwreck onlookers are from 19th century photographs and have been hand drawn on mylar by Charles Hobson. The maps are printed on handpainted Rives Lightweight. The edition has been assembled and bound with the assistance of Celeste Wiedmann in the spring and summer of 1996"--Colophon.
- Printed on one side of a strip formed from 15 joined sheets, folded accordion-style, with 6 mylar sheets inserted as overlays to photogravures. Last page is attached to back board of binding.
- With 6 full-page mounted reproductions of sea charts, 6 outline drawings in black ink on mylar sheets and 6 full-page photogravures (reproductions of drawings ; plate mark 13 x 9 cm.). Additional photogravure (plate mark 45 x 40 mm.) appears as frontispiece.
