Summary
The Theodora Stewart Burnett papers include a scrapbook containing Burnett's journal written to her second husband, Donald Burnett, letters, photographs, picture postcards, news clippings and memorabilia concerning a vacation Burnett took to Guatemala in July 1949. She was there during the uprising surrounding the assassination of the chief of Guatemala's armed forces, Colonel Francisco Javier Arana, and discusses this event. The collection also contains a folder of genealogical material about Burnett's mother's family, the Myers, from 1731 until the 1970s, the 1926 Central High School (Sioux City, Iowa) yearbook, and a 1982 reunion program for classes of 1926-1928. There is also a program for the 1970-1971 debutante ball sponsored by the Beta Omega and Mu Omega Chapters of the Alpha Kappa Sorority.
