- Summary
- Records Narritjin Maymuru's reaction to the establishment of the Gove bauxite mine. In 1971, Narritjin held a mortuary ceremony at Yirrkala mission in memory of several dead relatives. He hoped to raise money by opening the ceremony to visitors from the mining town and to promote better appreciation of Yolngu culture among whites. The first part focuses on a concert given by Yirrkala school children. The second part covers the ceremony organized by Narritjin. In the final part, Narritjin reflects on the problems he encountered in opening his mortuary ceremony to whites.
