- Edward Guyre Burgess (1848-1919) was a grain merchant who lived and worked in both Montclair, New Jersey and New York, N.Y. He pursued his family genealogy as an avocation, tracing his lineage to 17th-century England through the Burgess and allied Winslow, Crosby, Cole and Robblee families.
