Summary
Nontraditional version of The nutcracker, set in the 1940s. The musical score includes jazz versions of selections from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, as well as songs such as "Jolly old Saint Nicholas" and "I'll be home for Christmas." Some of the scenes, among them the soda fountain and the skaters' dance, were directly inspired by real places and customs in Ohio's past.
