- "The object of this game is ... to have the player create a meaningful abstract composition on the game board based on the examination of one area of his or her life ... and to have the player participate in an ongoing collaborative documentary book project by recording his or her composition in the ledger book"--Rules of play, p. [2].
- "All elements were letterpress printed except for the pages of the ledger book which were offset printed by Coast Litho in Oakland, California. The various game pieces and game box were lasercut and otherwise fabricated at the press. Special thanks to Mary Chadwick for assisting with the printing and binding, and to Elizabeth McDevitt for editing"--Colophon.
- In 2 pockets on inside of lid: "Spinner" (board disk with printed paper label and rotating arrow) and "Rules of play" (user's guide: 6 p. of letterpress on sheet folded accordion-style, attached to board covers; 17 cm.). In upper compartment of box: game board (letterpress-printed design on 4 sheets mounted on connected cloth-covered boards; unfolds to 54 x 77 cm.) and "Ledger book" (184 p. of offset-printed forms and game board diagrams; 18 x 27 cm.). In 4 drawers below upper compartment (2 labeled "Marker shapes"; 2 labeled "Arrows, life markers, self markers" and "Templates, text strips, die"): the game paraphernalia. There are 18 board marker shapes, 15 metal arrows, 8 plastic "life markers," 1 "self-marker," 2 plastic templates, 36 wooden text strips, 1 die, 1 pencil sharpener and 3 colored pencils.

Box, user's guide, game board and ledger book are covered with gold-brown Japanese book cloth; box is trimmed with light golden satin, which is also used for pockets inside lid and spine of ledger book. Printed paper labels of orange and blue paper on box, drawer fronts, pockets, user's guide, game board and ledger book. Front flap of box lid is secured with a lozenge-shaped piece of board with an incised arrow, which rotates on a metal post on box front.
