- Historian in American music Vivian Perlis interviews Eubie Blake, an American composer, lyricist, and pianist of ragtime, jazz, and popular music. Blake talks about his life and long-term career as a composer and performer, and about ragtime music compositions that he composed and played. He reminisces about his family background, his childhood, and various episodes of his life and people he worked with, and performs excerpts from some of his works.
