Note
  • The eight discs consist of four recordings made on separate occasions.
  • Disc 1 (track 1, ca. 1:50 min.) to disc 2 (track 3, ca. 0:25 min.), in Japanese: Yeichi Nimura engages in conversation with Ito (Kunisuke Ito?) and Aiko Ohtaki. It appears that this discussion was held to follow up on a previous production meeting among Yeichi Nimura, Aiko Ohtaki, and Gemze de Lappe on Oct. 7, [1966] regarding the production of the musical comedy Oklahoma by Takarazuka Kagekidan. Nimura mediates between Gemze de Lappe and the Japanese representatives regarding de Lappe's contract as a choreographer for Oklahoma in Japan. The recording date is unknown, but the recording was most likely made in October, 1966.
  • Disc 2 (track 3, ca. 1:40 min.) to disc 3 (track 2, ca. 2:30 min.), in Japanese: Yeichi Nimura engages in an informal, general conversation with Tokichi Sakai, an ukiyoe artist. Nimura and Sakai talk about art, ukiyoe, and Japan. The recording date is unknown, but the recording was probably made in 1966.
  • Disc 3 (track 2, ca. 4:45 min.) to disc 4, in Japanese and English: Yeichi Nimura and Lisan Kay engage in an informal, general conversation with Etsuko Takahara (daughter of Konami Ishii), Nario Goda and Kayoko Goda. Nimura talks about his experiences in Europe. They talk about Japan, dance, movies, and performing arts, etc. The handwritten notes in the original container indicate that the recording was made on November 27, 1966.
  • Disc 5 (track 1, ca. 1:20 min.) to disc 8, in Japanese: From tracks 1-4 (disc 5), Yeichi Nimura engages in an informal, general conversation with Kayoko Mitsuyoshi while they wait for other guests. From ca. 1:10 min. of track 4 (disc 5), Natsuya Mitsuyoshi and Bonjin Atsugi join the conversation. Kayoko Mitsuyoshi and her husband, Natsuya Mitsuyoshi, visited Nimura before leaving for Europe and introduced Atsugi, who came to New York to study dance as a Fulbright scholar. From track 10 (disc 5) to track 2 (disc 6), Natsuya Mitsuyoshi and Nimura discuss Nimura's biography. Track 2 (disc 6) to track 2 (disc 8) contain very general conversation. Nimura and Natsuya Mitsuyoshi briefly talk about Nimura's biography from track 3 (disc 8) to track 8 (disc 8); however, the majority of conversation is unintelligible because of the poor sound quality. The handwritten notes in the original container indicate that the recording was made on October 14, 1966.
  • The sound quality is fair in disc 1. The sound quality is good in discs 2 to 5. The sound quality is poor in discs 6, 7, and 8. There is an extraneous noise throughout, and the conversation is not always intelligible.
