- In 1711, Nicolas Dorigny was invited to engrave Raphael's tapestry cartoons of the Acts of The Apostles in Hampton Court, the costs of which were raised by the then novel method of subscription, including advertisements in the Spectator and Daily Courant. The prints were finally delivered to subscribers in April 1719 (cf. Oxford dictionary of national biography)
