Summary
Historian in American music Vivian Perlis interviews Eubie Blake, an American composer, lyricist, and pianist of ragtime, jazz, and popular music. Blake talks about his long-term career as a composer and performer, and about his hit-production of the vaudeville, and later a musical revue, Shuffle along, music and various songs that he performed. He reminisces about various episodes in his life and people he worked with such as jazz composer, lyricist, band leader, singer and co-playwright of Shuffle along, Noble Sissle. He also performs excerpts from some of his works during the interview.
