Summary
This session relates to the creation of the score for Jerome Robbins's ballet Watermill. Kensuke Kawase demonstrates techniques on the shakuhachi and plays traditional Japanese compositions. Through a translator, Robbins questions Kawase about the instrument and the types of music he plays, and the two discuss scheduling and plans for the ballet, which is not named.
