Summary
Recorded June 10, 1994. Responding to questions from Otis Stuart (including some written questions which are referred to but not read on the tape), Jerome Robbins speaks about Rudolf Nureyev. Robbins comments on Nureyev's performances in Robbins' ballets Afternoon of a faun and Dances at a gathering; about his influence on the ballet world; about the professional and personal relationship he had with Nureyev and about Nureyev's achievements as director of the Paris Opera Ballet. Robbins speaks about his personal estimation of Nureyev, and about Nureyev's social life. He gives his opinions of Nureyev's ballets Washington Square and Swan lake. At the end of the interview, Robbins shares several anecdotes about occasions on which he spent time with Nureyev.
