• "This edition consists of twenty-five signed and numbered copies. The woodcuts were printed by the artist on Hosho handmade and mounted on Rives mouldmade paper. The type was set by hand and printed at the Spiral Press, New York ... This portfolio was completed in March, 1969, and is here signed by the artist"--Colophon.
• A bound trade edition was issued by Farrar, Straus and Giroux, New York, in 1969.
• Consists of 19 bifolia, each containing a tipped-in print, comprising t.p. and frontispiece on opposite pages; full-page port. of Whitman; 16 excerpts from poems and 16 prints on opposite pages; and colophon. Two leaves are blank.
• Illustrations: 19 prints on Hosho paper : woodcut, col. ; full-page or smaller. All but a small print above the colophon are signed in pencil.
