- Key West color printed postcard reproduces painting of a young black man dressed in trousers, shirt, and tie, kneeling on shore of swamp, weeping, hands clasped in prayer, as he is attacked by three alligators, with dialect text in rectangular insert under title "A Darky's Prayer, Florida." Perelman writes to Tugel that he hopes this "splendid sample of the local and enlightened point of view [...] will go far toward softening your own reactionary thinking."
