Rebecca Tugel was the wife of the Swedish artist Ake Tugel and the former wife of author Richard Gehman. See Dec. 1, 2006 issue of Playboy for Neil Cohen's memoir of Rebecca and Ake Tugel.
Key West color printed postcard reproduces painting of a young black man dressed in trousers, shirt, and tie, kneeling on shore of swamp, weeping, hands clasped in prayer, as he is attacked by three alligators, with dialect text in rectangular insert under title "A Darky's Prayer, Florida." Perelman writes to Tugel that he hopes this "splendid sample of the local and enlightened point of view [...] will go far toward softening your own reactionary thinking."
