- Being one of the pioneers of minimalist music, Reich talks about his early life and music experiences with drumming and African music, and their influence on his compositions. Michael Tilson Thomas and Richard Stoltzman, fellow musicians, discuss minimalist tendencies in music and Reich's impact. Thomas also analyzes one of Reich's most prominent works, The desert music, that he conducted.
