Jennifer Muller speaks with Jennifer Brilliant about her family background; her first creative movement class; early sources of her creative impulses; the great influence of her teacher Antony Tudor; sources of her own spiritual development; other early influential teachers and experiences, including Anna Sokolow, Pearl Lang and the American Dance Festival; her teacher Carol Friend; teaching to support her early career; the José Limón Dance Company and her experience there, both in terms of the company's dynamics and with José Limón himself; José Limón's reaction to Louis Falco's ballet Sleepers; Muller's early choreography and the elements she feels set it apart from other works of the time; working with Falco; her work Beach; her thoughts on teaching.
