- Summary: Publié à l'occasion de l'exposition présentée du 21 novembre 2009 au 28 février 2010 au musée La Piscine à Roubaix. Roger Fry, Clive Bell, Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell et bien d'autres formèrent avec le groupe de Bloomsbury une extraordinaire réunion de créateurs et de personnalités qui ouvrirent à l'art moderne français les portes de l'Angleterre en organisant à Londres, en 1910 et en 1912, les expositions du postimpressionnisme. Né au début du siècle dernier dans le quartier londonien de Bloomsbury, le groupe demeure un phénomène culturel unique qui convoque le croisement des disciplines, l'engagement au service d'un renouveau de la forme et du fond de l'expression artistique, avec en particulier l'activité des ateliers Omega de 1913 à 1919, le foisonnement des idées et des personnalités, jouant un rôle considérable dans la perception sociale, politique et artistique des XXe et XXIe siècles.
