- Summary
- The New York Power Authority is proposing to construct and operate a nominal 500-megawatt electric generating facility known as the NYPA Combined Cycle Project which will be located adjacent to NYPA's Charles Poletti Power Project in Astoria, Queens. The facility will consist of two combustion turbine generators operating in conjunction with two unfired heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and a steam turbine. The steam created in the HRSGs will be used to drive the steam turbine generator. Combined cycle technology enables the power plant to generate 50 percent more electricity from its fuel than it would with a conventional single-cycle power system.
