- Summary
- American dramatist Reinaldo Povod discusses his family background, his career as a playwright and his experience working with Joseph Papp who produced some of his plays such as Cuba and his Teddy bear. He reminisces with great appreciation about Papp who invited him to become a resident playwright at the Public Theater. Povod talks about his relationships with other playwrights, producers, directors and with Joseph Papp during the New York Shakespeare Festival in the 1980's. He also speaks about his influences such as Puerto Rican playwright, actor, and co-founder of the Nuyorican Poets Café, Miguel Piñero.
