- LuEsther Mertz, a businesswoman, philanthropist, and the chairman of Joseph Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival from 1973 to 1987, talks about her support of the Festival and her experience helping Joseph Papp to move several of the Festival's productions from the Public Theater to Broadway, including Two gentlemen of Verona and A chorus line. She also talks about her relationship with Papp and his complicated personality.
