Note
  • Imprint from colophon; ISTC lists printers as Johannes and Gregorius de Gregoriis, de Forlivio.
  • Includes translations from Greek by Iōannēs Argyropoulos, Bartolomeo da Messina, Boethius, Leonardo Bruni (Leonardus Aretinus), Robert Grosseteste, Jacobus de Venetiis, Niccolò de' Tudeschi, William of Moerbeke and Giorgio Valla.
  • Contains a number of pseudo-Aristotelian works; for list, see Bayerische Staatsbibliothek Inkunabelkatalog (cited below). Three of these are translated from Arabic: De plantis (here not the the book titled "De plantis," but "De uegetalibus"), ascribed to Nicolaus of Damascus, translated by Alfred of Sareshel; and De proprietatibus aelementorum and Liber de causis (here: "De causa"), translated by Gherardo da Cremona. De pomo is translated from a Hebrew version of an Arabic text; translation ascribed to Manfred, king of Naples and Sicily.
  • The attribution of Liber sex principiorum (De sex principiis) (leaves [250]-[254]) to Gilbert de la Porée is now generally believed to be spurious.
  • Dedicatory letter of "Democritus" to Benedictus Fontana on preliminary leaf 2.
  • Numerous errors in foliation: 100-199 repeated; for others, not affecting count, see Catalogue of the fifteenth-century printed books in the Harvard University Library.

  • Woodcut publisher's device with initials B.F. following colophon; see Zappella, G. Le marche dei tipografi e degli editori italiani del Cinquecento, v. 2, fig. 560; Kristeller, P. Die italienischen Buchdrucker- und Verlegerzeichen bis 1525, entry 212; EDIT 16 CNCM 1980.
