- Summary
- American politician, lawyer and broadcaster John Lindsay, who was Mayor of New York City from 1966 to 1973 and chairman of the Lincoln Center Theatre later in the 1980's, and well-known for his support of New York theaters, speaks about Joseph Papp as the founder of the New York Shakespeare Festival. He shares his memories about his meetings with Papp and Bernard Gersten (the associate producer of various New York Shakespeare Festival productions in 1960-1978), about Papp as a talented dramatic producer and director, and about his ability for fundraising.
