Summary
Both interviewees are performers in Ringling Bros. Circus. The 1st interview takes place in the circus, location unidentified. Benny talks about his family, composed of generations of circus artists, and his own early introduction to work in the circus. He focuses on elephants, whom he, his father, mother, grandparents and stepfather train and with whom they perform, and singles out Anna May, his favorite elephant. On occasion the conversation is drowned out by the roaring of the animals. The 2nd interview is on the phone with Steve LaPorte, "the Boss Clown," who speaks about his career, his responsibilities as the Boss Clown, and about the clown profession and the circus as an entertainment establishment in general.
