- Summary
- American dancer and writer Nicholas Dante shares his memories about the New York Shakespeare production of the musical "Chorus line" (music by Marvin Hamlisch) the book of which he co-wrote together with James Kirkwood, that started as a workshop and then was moved to Broadway by Joseph Papp in 1975. The show later became one of the longest-running productions in Broadway history. Dante also speaks about his relationships with Michael Bennett, the production's director and choreographer, who invited him to the sessions where chorus dancers who were auditioning for the show talked about their lives, which formed the basis of the musical's book; and with Joseph Papp, the producer of the show and founder of the New York Shakespeare Festival.
