The stage setting is the Lyric Theatre in New Orleans, a home of black vaudeville. The time is 1927...one year after the situations which led to the musical One Mo' Time. This new musical fictionalizes the events on the last night of performance at the Lyric before it was "mysteriously" destroyed by fire.
