Summary
In the first half of the program (2:00-3:00 P. M.), host John Schaefer talks with award-winning harpist Marie-Pierre Langlamet about her career and her upcoming concert (Merkin Hall, 2/23/92, 2 P. M.), who plays live in the WNYC studio. In the second half of the program (3:00-4:00 P. M.), host John Schaefer talks to conductor Joel Thome about the orchestral music of Frank Zappa and Edgar Varèse, and the upcoming concert (Avery Fisher Hall, 2/27/1993, 8 P. M.), as they play selections from the original recording tapes of the 1993 album "Zappa's universe" (The Orchestra of Our Time, rec. live at The Ritz), which was a tribute to Zappa's 50th birthday.
