- Summary
- Madeline Kahn, who was a stage, film and TV actress and singer, talks about her family background and her professional career on the New York stage. She shares her memories about her experience working on the role of "Chrissy" from David Rabe's play "In the boom boom room" that opened at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center in 1973 and ran for 37 performances. She speaks about her relationships with Joseph Papp, who directed the show, D. Rabe and other production and cast members of the show. She compares her acting work in the play under the unsuccessful direction of Julie Bovasso, who was fired by Papp (because they did not get along), three days before the show opened, and J. Papp, who finally directed the NYSF production of the play.
