- First produced at the 1976 Edinburgh Festival, it transfered to a commercial theatre in London's West End. The first American production was at the Mark Taper Forum, Los Angeles, Calif., in Oct. 1978. There was no New York production until the Manhattan Theatre Club's limited run Feb. 19-March 16, 1980, directed by Nancy Meckler.
