Summary
Hendrix, a songwriter and a vocalist of the Labelle's trio, is trying to account for lack of attention to her solo album by the media. She and Mewborn discuss changes in rock and roll music, the evolution of performers, the tendency of groups to fall apart, and such. Hendrix defines her music style and talks about the incorporation of synthesizers and the growing significance of electronic music instruments. She speaks about her collaboration with the band when composing and about the musicians of this band. Other topics include the importance for the performers to project a variety of images, the difference between performing for a live audience and the cameras, Hendrix's adjustment to performing alone, the famous Brits living in the USA, the inability to relate to new music trends (Wickham calls Olivia Newton-John and Barry Manilow boring) etc. Wickham makes occasional comments and clarifications, and she and Hendrix evaluate Patti LaBelle (of Labelle) as a singer and as a person.
