- Michael Maule discusses performing in the April 1957 production of the Merry Widow for the New York City Light Opera Company with Mary Ellen Moylan; dancing with New York City Ballet for three years before performing in Merry Widow; performing in Symphony in C with Tanaquil LeClercq; rehearsing at the old School of American Ballet on E. 59th St. with Maria Tallchief in Firebird; meeting Alexandra Danilova and performing with her; performing the waltz in Merry Widow with Mary Ellen Moylan; George Dorris sings the party section at Sonia's house from Merry Widow; remembering the character number and the costumes Maule and Moylan wore; showing picture of them in costumes for Merry Widow Pas de deux and problem Moylan had with red gloves and why his hair is darker; playing recording of the Gold and silver waltz which was not in the original 1943 production as Michael Maule remembers the dance he performed with Mary Ellen Moylan; Maule performing in Annie get your gun for one year; George Balanchine surprising the cast of Theme and variations, when he quickened the pace of the music to everyones shock; beginning the Ballet Alicia Alonso in Cuba after Ballet Theater folded; remembering Paula Lloyd dancing the can-can in the Merry Widow; and concludes with a brief talk about his first wife's death in 1995 and his current wife Katherine, mother of dancer John Gardner, and visiting Balanchine in the hospital before his death.
