Local Note
Berg Collection copy with undated autograph letter, signed, by Charles Richards of the City Lights Jazz Band, to poet Robert E. Johnson, on verso, giving history of his band and also of the musicians, including Bob Helm abd Brew Moore, who 'supplemented' it. He also claims to have co-produced the 1958 Follies, though poet Michael Grieg did not give him credit. He claims that all of the poets, especially Rexroth, hated Grieg, and that it was he, Richards, who convinced Rexroth to appear, seeing which, Ferlinghetti (and presumably the other poets) relented and also appeared.
