- Parable (choreography, Hanya Holm; music, François Couperin) received its first New York performance at the Central High School of Needle Trades on January 16, 1943. Danced by Hanya Holm and Group, it portrayed the biblical story of the wise and foolish virgins, with Holm herself as a foolish virgin. George Bockman, who died in 1979, was a dancer, choreographer, and stage designer. He designed costumes and scenery for the Theatre Dance Company (for which he also choreographed and performed), the Humphrey-Weidman Company, Eugene Loring's Dance Players, NBC-TV, and other dance and theatrical productions.
