- Original costume designs for female dancers in the Act I tarantella and the Act II pavane. This collection also includes 17 color reproductions of costume designs. With the exception of two modern-day costumes for gangsters, these designs depict Elizabethan period attire, eight of them for the Act I musical number "We open in Venice."

- Kiss me, Kate, a musical version of Shakespeare's comedy The taming of the shrew with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, opened on Broadway at the New Century Theatre in Dec. 1948. It was an immediate success and has been revived numerous times. These designs were made for the 1989 revival at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, which was directed and choreographed by Donald Saddler, the donor of these designs. The sets were designed by Brian Jackson, and the cast was led by Victor A. Young (playing Fred Graham) and Jayne Lewis (Lilli Vanessi).
- Lewis Brown, 1928-2011, designed costumes for theatre, opera, and ballet. A native of California, he moved to New York in the 1950s, and worked for television before making his first New York costume designs for the New York City Ballet's production of Medea in 1958. He designed many productions for the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, Calif., and worked frequently for regional theatres.
