- Ruth Page's ballet Revenge, also called Revanche (music, Giuseppe Verdi, arranged by Isaac Van Grove; scenario, Page and Nicolas Remisoff) was an adaptation of Verdi's opera Il trovatore. The ballet's original production was given as a work-in-progress by the Page-Stone-Camryn Ballet in Chicago in Jan. 1951, without scenery but with costumes by Remisoff, Page's longtime collaborator. Antoni Clavé designed the sets and costumes for the final version, which was first performed by Les Ballets des Champs-Elysées in Paris in Oct. 1951. The Ruth Page Ballets company presented the ballet in the United States in 1955.
