Summary
Costume designs for female dancers. A design dated [19]66 is for a fairy, possibly the leading role of Titania, in Frederick Ashton's The dream, a ballet based on William Shakespeare's A midsummer night's dream. A design for an unidentified ballet, labeled [19]67 [?] , depicts a female dancer in a tight-fitting low-cut bodice with long full sleeves, and tight breeches or leggings ending at the knee.

  • The dream (choreography, Frederick Ashton; music, Felix Mendelssohn) was first presented by the Royal Ballet in 1964 with scenery by Henry Bardon and costumes by David Walker. Peter Farmer designed new costumes and scenery for a production by the Royal Ballet touring section in 1966, and these designs were adopted by the Royal Ballet from Dec. 1971 to Feb. 1974.
