- Biography (note)
- Peter Farmer, a stage designer born in Luton, England, has designed multiple productions of many classical ballets for many different dance companies, creating some difficulty in linking the designs in this collection to specific productions. Additionally, there is no confirmation that these designs were actually used. The design for Giselle, labeled "idea" and dated [19]64, was probably created for the revival of Joyce Graeme's staging for Ballet Rambert in 1965. The Coppélia design, though dated [19]69, may have been done for Jack Carter's staging for London Festival Ballet in 1968. The design for the nursemaids in The sleeping beauty is labeled on the verso as the Stuttgart production, but at present this production cannot be identified.
