- Subject
- Genre/Form
- Costume design drawings.
- Note
- One drawing is labeled on the verso: Costume for leading boy in Gold standard (new version), Remisoff 1952, Ruth Page Ballet.
- Source (note)
- Ruth Page.
- Biography (note)
- Ruth Page's ballet Gold standard (music, Jacques Ibert; scenery and costumes, Nicolas Remisoff) was first presented in Chicago by the Chicago Opera Ballet in 1934. These two costume designs, also by Remisoff, were apparently made in 1952 for a new production which was never realized. Page's Impromptu au bois (music, Ibert; scenery and costumes, Georges Wakhevitch) was first performed in Europe in 1951 by the Ballets des Champs-Elysées. Remisoff also designed costumes for that ballet, but they were never used.
