- Trial (choreography, Laverne Meyer; music, Alban Berg, Lyric suite for string quartet; sets and costumes, Terence Emery) was first presented by Western Theatre Ballet at the Alhambra in Bradford, England, on June 9, 1966, and received its first London performance at Sadler's Wells Theatre on June 30, 1966. British stage designer, artist, and teacher Terence Emery (1933-2003) gained experience on the production team of the Royal Opera House in London before beginning to design sets and costumes for Western Theatre Ballet and other dance companies in the 1960s. His work includes ballet, opera, and theatre productions.
