- Summary
- Depiction of the Tuileries Palace, one of the sites of the Festival of the Supreme Being, ordered by Robespierre and designed by Jacques-Louis David, and celebrated in Paris on the twentieth day of Prairial in Year II (June 8, 1794). The crowds represented here include both civilians and military men bearing standards and weapons.

- The Festival of the Supreme Being was intended to inaugurate a deist state religion for the new French Republic.
- Possibly an early state of an etching attributed to engraver Pierre-Gabriel Berthault after Jean Duplessi-Bertaux, titled Fête a l'Etre suprême: le 8 juin 1794, ou 20 prairial an 2.eme de la République. The version held by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France has a darker sky, with clouds, and more shading of the buildings.
