- Holman, a musician of the 30s and early 40s, who no longer plays music but was once a member of the musical group The Lewis Bronzeville Five of Chicago, reminisces about the bands and musicians of that period, the clubs they played in, the contract with the Bluebird record company, and provides many other details that Whitesell, a writer from upstate New York and a collector of old recordings, needs for his research on old musical groups and musicians.
