Summary
Hansen, born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a radio broadcaster known for his enormous collection of records, talks about his fascination with playing records on a phonograph as a child, musical education, turning his interest from classical music to rock and roll, swing and jazz, the career in the music industry that followed his graduation from college, becoming a radio jockey, the origin of his knick name Dr. Demento, his current activity and more. He and Whitesell, a great collector of records in his own right, discuss rare recordings, their acquisition, and good quality equipment to play them on.
